Greg Aimé is a Connecticut based Haitian-American multi-disciplined artist. He evokes wonder through his stunning portrayal of the Black form through his illustrative storytelling capabilities via digital collages. Coming from a large family mostly comprised of women, black women are the focal point and recurring theme of his work. His current focus is exploring the complex relationship of the descendants of the diaspora within society, history, spirituality, religion, royalty, and sovereignty. His work aims to bridge the past and the present, as well as Eastern and Western cultures, to showcase similarities amongst a diverse race of people.
‘‘My work is a documentation of black history past, future, and present. Each portrait is a manifestation of spirituality, culture, and beliefs. I see and create who have been forgotten and who we should never forget. At the root my work is a journey of self discovery and healing where I immortalize and honor the ancestors in the process. Through collages my aim is to spark conversation throughout the diaspora and ultimately further unite the collective.’’
